BEACH GLASS

ISLAND DREAM

He sits on a piling

At the end of the day

Faces the Sea smiling

With nothing to say

Each day on that piling

As the sun sinks low

Faces the Sea smiling

Basks in the glow

Reflects on the day

The people he sang for

All on their way

Believing there’s more

He came for a season

So many years ago

One chapter ended

Searching for a direction to go

No office for him

No suit coat or tie

Follows a passion within

He works and never wonders why

On his stool he sings

Center of the stage

Gives the crowd wings

This old Conch sage

Sings about life

Some of it tragic

Sings about love

And all of the magic

He lives his dream

Singing for the crowd

Takes them far from their worries

Lives his life out loud

When he’s done singing

Guitar’s all packed

Applause in his ears ringing

Lucky, cause he’s never looked back

So, he sits on his piling

At the end of the day

Faces the Sea smiling

With nothing to say
