ABOUT THE ARTIST

 

Since 1995 Mike Holberg has had a passion for glass blowing that has enabled him to become a refined and disciplined artist dedicated to fiery colors and passionate sculptures of glass. You will notice his art pieces are thoughtful in their execution and playful in design. 

A native of Seattle, Mike Holberg was born and raised in the Scandinavian community of Ballard. Living on the shores of Puget Sound the ocean and water in particular have always been important influences in his life.  The “Beach Glass” series incorporates found driftwood from the Seattle shores while the Zen series was inspired by many days sitting on those beaches contemplating life. The Tango Series was inspired by his lovely,  passionate Muse and wife, Susan. Together for many years, the passion still burns bright.

 

Recently, Mike has started to branch out into more retail designs. His latest creations are “City Chickens tm”. Each bird is created by hand and embodied with its own quirky personality. To answer your question, the chicken, came before the egg!
